Jewel is a black raspberry that is ideal for canning, jams and preserves. This vigorous upright plant produces large firm berries with a rich raspberry taste. It ripens red to black in early July and the crops are plentiful. It is reliable, hardy in zones 4-9 and grows 4-5′ tall and 2-3′ wide. A mature plant will produce 1-2 quarts per plant.
