Redbud (Cercis canadensis) is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful native trees and has long been a landscape favorite. Delicate rosy-purple flowers cover the branches in April before the leaves appear. Large, attractive, heart-shaped leaves emerge with a reddish tint, turn a rich green to provide summer interest and transform to yellow for a fall show. A hardy and adaptable tree of compact height, it works well as a specimen or planted in groupings.
Mature plant reaches 20-25′.
4′ Lightly branched tree.
Hardy in zones 4-8
